5 Ways to De-Stress!             (Au Naturel)

We all feel it. It’s that struggle to quiet the brain from the constant screaming of the to-do list that can be overwhelming and force us into a world filled with stress and anxiety. 

Luckily, there are things we can do to alleviate some of the chaos in our minds and get us focused and ready to attack the tasks clouding our brains. 

Here are 5 simple ways to de-stress:

 1.  Wake up earlier!  

I know- this is a tough one, but man does it work. Giving yourself a little extra time in the morning to have a quiet & calm cup of coffee, write in a journal, or even turn on some music and stretch for 15 min. These little changes can really transform your day making you feel less stressed and overwhelmed. 

  2.  Yoga!

Whether you’re an experienced yogi or have never practiced, yoga provides an escape that focuses on breathing, finding strength, lengthening and stretching the body and the release of negative energy caused by stress, anxiety, or other overwhelming situations.  Yoga has the ability to empower you and help you feel relaxed & invigorated. Get your practice on and feel the stress peel away. 

  3.  Make a list. 

Lists. Are. Huge. There’s not a feeling quite like crossing something off a list that you have completed. I am guilty for adding things I’ve already done to a list just so I can cross it off 🤦🏼‍♀️. Making a list allows you to see everything in front of you instead of sorting through it all in your head over and over again. Once you have your list written out, it’s great to then prioritize adding numbers next to each item in order of importance. Tackle the items one at a time!

  4.  Finish the task in its entirety before going to the next!

So often we have a million things going on at once. People are often praised for his/her ability to multi-task, but so often this causes a lot of stress. Starting a task and completing it gives you a sense of accomplishment and motivates you to continue. 

5. Take a bath!

There’s something about soaking in warm water that gives you a sense of relief. It relaxes you and allows you to have some time for yourself- something we all need and deserve. By really escaping and allowing yourself to just be in the moment, you will be in a better mindset to handle the stresses of life.
