Katie originally grew up in McLean, Va. After graduating from Virginia Tech, she worked in the enterprise software industry traveling often, until having children. Katie had always been an avid runner, but found a love for yoga in 1999 when a friend dragged her to a Bikram class. She loved the detox feeling that a hotter yoga offered, plus the benefits from stretching.

Katie practiced Bikram for 11 years, and then found Sunstone yoga in Southlake, TX. She loved the community, variety of classes that they offered, and strong style of teaching. In 2012, she decided to get her 500-(RYT) yoga certification in Dallas, TX. After training, she began teaching Hatha, then branched out into Resistance Stretching, Pilates, Vinaysa, Power Flow, and Barre. Eventually in 2016, teaching and managing the rhythm cycle studio. Teaching students proper alignment and form has always been Katie’s strength, while having fun!

Katie just moved to South Carolina in July to be closer to family, after residing in Texas for 15 years. She has been married for 17 years and has 2 children. Teaching yoga and fitness has been a fulfilling experience, and she is always amazed to see students advance in their practice and encourage their successes. She is very excited to be the Palmetto state and start her journey here.
