Julie moved to Charlotte while she was pregnant and working for ivivva (Lululemon) in September of 2017 from Ohio where she was born and raised. Over the last decade, fitness has been her major career, passion and focus.
Julie began her fitness career in early 2009 after she started working in sales for a large corporate company. This company had a corporate gym where she got involved in classes during lunch and after work. After a big layoff, Julie realized it was a blessing in disguise and her true passion was health and fitness. A couple of her mentors suggested she go into the fitness field, and they helped her get started and trained.
Julie started her first training with a YMCA group fitness certification and started just with Zumba fitness. These were the early years of Zumba and she was actually trained at the world's first and largest Latin-inspired fitness facility. She began to teach Zumba as well as many other class formats for that particular studio where the owners were a part of the founding team of Zumba fitness.
Julie is nationally certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America® /NASM as a personal trainer and has received several other specialty fitness training certifications over the years. She has taught a variety of fitness classes and styles and enjoys taking a good heated power yoga class to give herself a good challenge. She has attended dance and fitness training programs and workshops in Chicago, Columbus, Atlanta, and Orlando.
Moving to Charlotte during pregnancy was a huge change and challenge for her, but now that she is settled, she is thrilled to get back into teaching. Fitness and nutrition are her passion and her calling is to inspire and help others by improving their quality of life. Julie loves meeting new people and is so excited to be a part of the Carolina Yoga team.
