I was born and raised in a rural community outside of Wilmington, NC. I graduated from UNC Wilmington with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a double major in Spanish. Following graduation, I moved to Charlotte where I pursued a career in the area of Children and Family Services and earned my Master’s of Social Work at UNC Charlotte.
In some capacity, I have always been on a yogic journey. My work with children and families introduced me to many of the mental benefits that yoga also offers, including strategies to manage stress, practicing mindfulness, and raising self-awareness. It wasn’t until late in my first pregnancy that I discovered the physical benefits of yoga postures. Yoga offered relief from physical challenges, increased my flexibility, and built strength. It became an unexpected path to self-discovery that paved a way to a mind-body connection. I have been slowly developing my personal practice over the past six years and acquired my 200HR RYT certification at Carolina Yoga. I am super excited to join the teaching community!
