About The Event

Balance is a key component in both yoga and life. Learning to cultivate and maintain balance is useful platform for self-inquiry. The more balanced our lives, the more enjoyable and less resistant they become. With a balanced lifestyle, we can add a little more yang to our yin, or yin to our yang and work with and for our nervous and immune systems. When we become curious and aware of creating balance in our daily lives, things become more easefull and effortless. This class is designed to invite that conversation in. In yoga, the concept of effort-and-ease (stirra & sukta) encourages us to practice finding the balance between mindful movement and energy. A pose should feel alive and warm but it should not come at the cost of holding your breath, pain, or force. It is about moving through, not plowing ahead Research suggests that activating your sympathetic nervous system through asana practice followed by relaxation, helps deepen and optimize the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system. This balance transfers to life off the mat as well. Human being vs human doing. Components of This Workshop Include: -Breakdown of Fight or Flight vs Rest & Recover -Philosophy of Stirra & Sukta -Nadi Shodana Pranayama -Components of Balance & the Elements -A Powerful & Sweaty Vinyasa -Deep Stretch -Yoga Nidra This workshop is designed to help you create a compassionate curiosity around balance and alchemy in your body. To get familiar with your nervous system as it relates to balance, and unpack the philosophy of balance as it relates to yoga. Taught by: Rachael L. November 15th•4pm-6pm Cost: $20
