Learn the foundations of the most common yoga inversions Headstand (Sirsasana) Forearmstand (Pincha-mayurasana) and Handstand (Adho-mukha-vrksasana).
Inversions are thought to have positive benefits for the circulatory and lymphatic systems, as well as increased mental concentration. Join Andy & Tamara of Vinyasa Arts Yoga as they break down the bio-mechanics and alignment of each asana to help you set up a solid foundation, that works for your body. This workshop will help you to understand how powerful proper alignment and energy locks (bandhas) can be, through simple core strengthening practices. Andy & Tamara will also lead you through wrist and shoulder mobility exercises to maintain a healthy range of motion in your joints. This workshop looks at various sequences/movements that help you acquire, or build on existing strength, while gaining confidence and ease as you turn your world upside down. These are transitions that you can incorporate into your yoga practice to gain the muscle memory to execute these challenging and fun poses.
*It is highly recommended that you have some knowledge of Vinyasa yoga to participate.
